Annual SSBA dinner

Two day painting on Vellum workshop
Dates Saturday 21/Sunday 22 April 10am to 16.00pm
Limited places
Venue: Corra Linn Studios, 6 The Dyeworks, New Lanark ML11 9DB
Cost: Members £125 including cost of 2 pieces of vellum
Non-members £165 including cost of 2 pieces of vellum

Tutor: Sharon Bradley
Sharon is a graduate in botanical illustration awarded by Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh. She has tutored beginning, intermediate and continuing levels of learners with RBGE and has run a private Botanical art group for over 15 years. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and exhibitions and she has many commissioned works in private collections. Sharon has also published work in Curtis Botanical magazine and several other botanical periodicals. 



Annual Garden Party

World Day of Botanical Art
18 May, John Hope Gateway RBGE
Events will be streamed online over a 24-hour period from venue to venue around the globe.
The Scottish Botanical Art Collective (SBAC) have arranged Flora Scotia, a joint exhibition, as Scotland’s contribution to this event.

Dates: Proposed exhibition is throughout April until end of May.

This event is dependent on numbers who wish to attend – we need at least 10 people. Please contact Lindesay Irvine if you would like to attend this. Event date will be confirmed shortly.

Wednesday Painting days at SAC
Our regular drop-in days, hosted at the Scottish Arts Club (24 Rutland Square, Edinburgh, EH1 2BW) continue to be a great success

Usually the second Wednesday of the month, from 10.30 – 16.00

11th April, 9th May, 13th June, 11th July 12th Sept, 10th Oct, 14th Nov

There is a £10 charge each day, payable on the day, and if you would like to book lunch please let Margaret Nicolson know well in advance by email.

SSBA member’s talks
To be held at the Botanic Cottage, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
Quarterly talks for members will be held on: dates, subjects and speakers to be confirmed.
We would be delighted to have a good turnout for these events as the speakers are volunteers.
Tea will be served after the talk.



Please feel free to share the schedule with other interested botanical artists or friends – there is a friend’s membership available for those who are interested in the society.
