Painting days in the McHattie Room, Saughton Park for next term, January to April 2025.   There is ample parking at the venue and tea and coffee are included.

The 10 painting session run from 9.30am to 3.30pm and are available on the following dates:

Tuesdays, 29th April, 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th May, 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th June and 1st July

Wednesdays, 30th April, 7th , 14th, 21st, 28th May, 4th, 11th,18th, 25th June and 2nd July

Full Members pay £70,  Botanical illustration students and Friends members pay £80  for the 10 weeks

Painting Days are available at the Library, Denny, Falkirk FK6 6FA .

The dates are for the following Thursdays:

May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th  and June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th. - 9 weeks for this term

The day starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm.  If you are travelling there is ample car parking space in front of the library and for early arrivals there is an excellent cafe below the library on the main road for coffee and later for lunch.

Full Members pay £40.50 Botanical illustration students and Friends members pay £45  for the 9 weeks

Detail at scale – choosing and enlarging subjects for visual impact

Where:  The McHattie Room, Saughton Park, Edinburgh

When: Saturday 31^st May and Sunday 1^st June 2025

Cost: Numbers are limited to 10 and the cost of the workshop is £150.00 for SSBA members and £170.00 for non-members. This includes tea or coffee each day.  There is free parking at the venue.

A small list of suggested materials:

• Brushes (round watercolour with good points) - size 1, plus a size 6 or 8 or larger if you have one
• Pencil and rubber
• Sketchbook or sketch paper
• Phone or iPad (for photography and zooming in on details)
• Watercolour paper (in block, book or loose sheet, preferably 100% cotton hot pressed)
• Your usual paints
• Kitchen roll
• Water container
